Kids and Kritters/Hillsborough County 4-H Dog Project 2009-2010
 

The Kids and Kritters 4-H Club is one of several 4-H Dog Clubs in Hillsborough County. Our group meets on Tuesday evening in Tampa just off I-4 & Exit 5 about a mile West of the Florida State Fairgrounds at Mary Help of Christians Center. During the 2009-2010 4-H year we hope all participants enjoy the learning process. We offer training for 4-H members to help them train their dogs in Showmanship, Obedience, Rally & Agility. On our 4-H Dog training site (Mary Help of Christians Center) dog training classes are also offered for Adults in Conformation & Obedience by instructors of the Hillsborough County Florida Dog Fanciers.

We always recommend our 4-H members begin their training in Obedience first. Obedience classes teach your dog basic control which is the foundation needed before beginning Showmanship, Rally or Agility. Obedience, like the other divisions has many levels to progress through. This is why the 4-H Dog Project can be enjoyed for many years by 4-H members.

Through the 4-H Dog Project we also offer 4-H members information on how to be responsible dog owners. This includes the importance of dog health care, keeping up with annual Veterinary visits, staying current on innoculations and licenses, proper dog confinement and identification, dog grooming, and dental care.
